Granger Smith is giving everything to God. After 24 years touring as an award-winning, platinum-selling country music singer-songwriter, Smith chose to leave the music business to pursue ministry. The "Like a River" summer tour in 2023 will mark his last as he moves full throttle toward his faith. Honoring his late son, River, Granger's first book, Like a River: Finding the Faith and Strength to Move Forward after Loss and Heartache, was released on August 1, 2023 (W Publishing Group, an imprint of Thomas Nelson). Compelled by the call to ministry, Granger intends to serve his local church under the teaching, council, and leadership of his pastor and elders while he continues work on a master's degree at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, along with public speaking and authorship. This poem, brought to life in story form, was written in loving memory of River Kelly Smith. He went to be with Jesus shortly after his third birthday.

Though his time on earth was short, he lived each day to the fullest, exuding contagious laughter and love. The idea for this story was born after Riv saying that he would see a big, nice T-Rex in Heaven someday.

All of the proceeds from this book will be donated to the River Kelly Fund. Through this fund, the legacy of River lives on. His joy and light will continue to illuminate the earth, helping those in need, and inspiring people to make each moment count.

In creating this book, we have seen God’s fingerprints all over this story. We hope each page brings you smiles and comfort and we pray that through our story you will feel His healing touch and know the hope we have in Heaven.
